Black immigrant communities – about 10% of the Black population in the U.S. – need an immigration system that is beyond temporary parole and beyond detention and deportation. Immigrant communities deserve the dignity and security that comes with permanent protection via green card registry in the homes and cities we’ve built.

Because immigration is a Black issue, it must be understood that including a pathway to citizenship in the Build Back Better budget is an urgent racial justice imperative. Let Congress know: We must have green card registry and a path to citizenship now!
